Review: Walkers Hoops and Crosses

We have been fortunate enough to have been asked to review a new product range by Walkers Crisps. The crisps arrived in a lovely box, and to Ruby's delight they were being hugged by a cuddly toy monkey.

Ruby and her newly named Sally the monkey!

We took the crisps along with us to our enjoy on our Bank Holiday picnic, which you can read about here.

So here is some background information, Walkers Crisps have just released a new product range called Hoops and Crosses which are designed for kids; they are made from wholegrain and have no artificial colours or preservatives. Each bag contains 85 calories, have 30% less fat than a regular bag of crisps and are baked instead of fried.

There are three flavours available in the range, all of which are suitable for vegetarians:

  • Prawn Cocktail
  • Roast Beef
  • Salt and Vinegar

The crisps are shaped like naughts and crosses and are packed with flavour. We sampled the roast beef variety which tasted really nice considering how much healthier they are than regular crisps; they had a similar taste and texture to roast beef Monster Munch, but the pack was much smaller. Ruby was hesitant to try them and to be honest was not overly fussed by them, I don't think she liked the roast beef flavouring, but Lottie absolutely loved them and hubbie and I enjoyed them too! Personally, I still think the bags are slightly too large for Ruby's lunch, but are a significant improvement on other alternatives.

Ruby and I even played naughts and crosses with them on our picnic!

I will definitely consider purchasing them when we do our next food shop.

Kimberley + Lottie Rating:    8 / 10
