Friday - End of the Working Week!

How can it be the end of the working week, this last week it has flown by! Fridays are normally quite as Ruby is at playschool for the majority of the day; I usually just spend the day staying at home and trying to catch up on the massive task of housework!

It's lovely having one to one time with just Lottie and I feel incredibly lucky to be able to be a stay at home mum (SAHM), as I'm able to give her my undivided attention. Before having children I thought I would return to work, however childcare is so expensive that I would actually be out of pocket. Hubbie and I have been very fortunate that whilst I was working, we used my wages to pay for our wedding, furniture for our house etc, so we really haven't been used to two incomes; because of this it wasn't a massive financial hit when we decided I should stay at home with the girls.

Shopping with Lottie

Rather than playing with the toys at home, we ventured out in the car to the local shopping outlet and decided on the fabric so that I can make a start on some cushions for the lounge. I can't wait to get started on making them, but I need to find time when the girls are either asleep or being entertained by hubbie.

We then went on to do the weekly food shop; at times I wonder how we manage to get by as everything is just so expensive. I try and keep us on a tight budget whilst still eating as well as we can, but its not always easy. I find it helps to meal plan and take a shopping list around with me so I try and stay on track.

This time I bought some things that I wouldn't normally buy so that one day next week, when Ruby is at playschool, Lottie will be having a sensory tasting session! I can't wait to see what she thinks of it! I never did anything like this with Ruby as I didn't have the confidence. I still don't like mess but I'm sure the fun will outweigh it!

When I arrived to pick Ruby up today I was informed by one of the leaders that Ruby had, had a bit of an accident; she had used a felt tip pen as lip stick, ekkk! My once little girl is growing up. After playschool we went to Nana's for tea and cake and Nana took Ruby to one side behind my back and after a couple of minutes Ruby emerged wearing a big girl school dress! Don't you think she is now starting to look so grown up?
